The Omni is also just a quick trip to Conseco Fieldhouse, the RCA Dome and less than ten miles from the major Indy area Airport. Another one of the many resorts in Indianapolis is the Hyatt Regency Downtown, with rooms available to you at One South Capital Avenue. There are nearby tennis and golf facilities for nice weather days and is also closely located to the NCAA Hall of Fame. Indianapolis Area Golf Resorts
The Fort Golf Resort can be found just moments from downtown Indianapolis and is perfect for smaller groups looking for privacy and challenging golf. The resorts grounds include a award-winning Pete Dye designed golf course, several miles of hiking trails and a 2.5 mile asphalt tracks for running, biking and other activities. The complete Fort Golf Resorts takes up an impressive 1,700 acres and is connected to Fort Harrison State Park.
Approximately three hours south of downtown Indianapolis you will find the quaint small town of French Lick. Best known as being the home of basketball great Larry Bird, this community is also the location of an amazing golf resort known as French Lick Springs. This very fancy resort is much more than just a golf course with a hotel, it is home to multiple courses, restaurants, a spa and shopping opportunities. The resort is made up of two separate hotels, one which includes a lobby and atrium that spans some two-hundred feet above your head. There is also a casino located on-site for entertainment on those rainy and snowy days.
If you’re willing to drive an hour from Indianapolis, you can also enjoy the Salt Creek Golf Retreat in the town of Nashville, Indiana. This golf course recently received 4.5 out of five stars from Golf Digest in their annual “Best Places to Play” feature. The hotel at Salt Creek is a condominium style resort, with one and two-bedroom units available. All accommodations feature high-speed internet, living room, dining area, balcony and fireplace.
