However, if you are in the Detroit area for business or pleasure, there are several luxurious resort options available. Selecting from the several resorts in Detroit MI will depend greatly on your entertainment preferences and what you may need to be close to during your stay. While, entertainment options are not as vast in Detroit as you would find in Las Vegas, Miami or even Chicago, but there is still plenty to do.

Some of the top tourist attractions in Detroit include Comerica Park (home of baseball’s Detroit Tigers), the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History, and Belle Isle; a true island near downtown that includes hiking trails, parks and a zoo.

All of these primary attractions are within easy reach of most Detroit Resorts and hotels, and many times advance reservations can me made by hotel staff.

Boasting nearly a hundred table games and 4,000 slot machines, there is always entertainment to be found right on the premises as well.

They also offer in-room dining for exquisite cuisine in whatever dress you feel comfortable in.

The city is actually its own metropolitan area and is home to the University of Michigan. It is also home to the Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest Resort, featuring relaxing accommodations especially designed for executive meetings.

The “third diamond” in the crown of three resorts in Detroit, the Motor City Casino Hotel is an inescapable sight on the Detroit skyline.  The building itself is called an architectural wonder due to its strong curves and neon lights.  In fact, designers used classic American cars as the inspiration to build a truly “Detroit” experience.

With hotel packages currently starting from $149 nightly, the Motor City Hotel can be an affordable, yet luxurious, alternative to the MGM Grand.  In fact, sources say the management and staff at the Motor City has been instructed to aggressively “beat the competition” in the areas of customer service and price matching.

As with the previous two casino hotels, the Motor City offers multiple dining options and plenty of gaming space.  The resort is also home to the “poker room” where multiple celebrities have been sighted playing in large take games.  The Motor City Casino Hotel is also the only hotel in the country to include a “radio lounge” where a DJ broadcasts live on a regular basis.

The Inn at St. John’s

If you are looking for a true golf resort during your trip to Detroit, the obvious choice in located in the suburb of Plymouth.  The Inn at St. John’s is more than half a century old, and is designed for small meetings to large business conferences, as well as weddings and other special occasions.

Fitness facilities at this resort include an indoor swimming pool with lazy river, bubble lounge and swim resistance area.  Of course a Jacuzzi and sauna complete the aquatic activity center.  For true fans of Golf, the facility boats 27-holes of PGA Championship level golf and a year-round heated driving range.

Located within twenty-minutes of most resorts in Detroit, Michigan, the Inn at St. John’s is a memorable way to enjoy the Motor City, without being downtown.
